11 June 2025

We are delighted to share that Dr Mohamed Zaki, Deputy Director of the Cambridge Service Alliance, has been awarded the Bo Edvardsson Industry Impact in Services Award at QUIS19 – the 2025 iteration of the world’s leading research symposium on service excellence.

This prestigious award recognises outstanding contributions to service research with real-world industry impact. The moment was made all the more meaningful as Mohamed received the honour from Bo Edvardsson himself, alongside esteemed colleagues Rohit Verma, Per Kristensson, and Francesca Renzi – an occasion Mohamed described as deeply memorable and personally significant.

In addition to his academic and research achievements, Mohamed also leads the successful online course Data-Driven Design for Customer Experience (CX), delivered by University of Cambridge Online. As course lead, he hosts weekly live sessions with learners, offering the unique opportunity to engage directly with his expertise and research in real time.

Reflecting on the award, Mohamed shared his gratitude with the QUIS nomination committee and expressed his appreciation for being added to a list of distinguished past recipients, including Janet McColl-Kennedy, Sabine Benoit and Werner Kunz.

The University of Cambridge Online team would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Mohamed on this well-deserved recognition. His work continues to bridge the gap between academic research and industry transformation.
