Tercia Jansen van Vuuren

BEng (Civil), MPhil, PrEng

Research Associate at the Laing O’Rourke Centre for Construction Engineering and Technology, University of Cambridge

About me

Tercia has a background in construction and sustainability. She is a professionally registered engineer with over five years’ experience in structural design and construction supervision within a South African context, followed by two years as a sustainability advisor working in London in the construction industry. Her undergraduate BEng is complemented by a Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development from the University of Cambridge. Her current research investigates carbon emissions in the built environment and how holistic thinking can help industry work towards the carbon reductions required to meet net zero targets. This builds on previous research related to performance of construction projects, looking at performance measurement frameworks and in particular how off-site construction influences project outcomes.
